About Simply Wood

Simply Wood is the trading name of Abloom Limited, a business registered in England and Wales since June 2005 and based at The Former Buffer Depot on Main Street in Wheldrake, just outside York.

We make and supply timber goods for gardens and homes — planters, raised beds, garden furniture and storage. Much of what we sell is built to order in Yorkshire rather than imported and warehoused, which is why we can cut a raised bed to your dimensions instead of asking you to work around ours.

What we care about

Timber that lasts. Garden wood lives outdoors in a British climate. We build with that in mind — appropriate thicknesses, proper fixings, and construction that can be repaired rather than replaced.

Honest description. Wood is a natural material. It varies in grain and colour, it moves with the seasons, and it silvers with age unless you treat it. We would rather tell you that up front than have it come as a surprise.

Straight answers. If a size will not work, or a lead time is longer than you were hoping, we will say so before you order.

Made to size

A standard raised bed rarely fits a real garden. If you need something in a size we do not list, send us the measurements and we will quote for it. Bespoke pieces take longer than stock items, and we will always give you a realistic date before you commit.
